Man City vs Tottenham

Manchester City midfielder Vincent Kompany will miss the Premier League match against Tottenham on Sunday at Eastlands through suspension after picking up five bookings.

Kompany sat out the 3-2 victory over FC Twente in the UEFA Cup on Thursday because of a groin problem.

Benjani is pushing for a place in the starting line-up after marking his return from a thigh injury with a goal in that match.

Blackburn vs Chelsea

Blackburn are set to be without leading strikers Benni McCarthy and Roque Santa Cruz for Chelsea's visit.

McCarthy is suspended while Santa Cruz is a major doubt with a calf tear.

Brett Emerton (hamstring) is also out while his fellow Australian Vince Grella is another doubt, also with a hamstring injury.

Striker Jason Roberts is aiming to prove a point against Chelsea once more.

Robbie Keane gave Rafael Benitez his 150th victory as Liverpool boss as the Anfield club moved back to the top of the Premier League.

Keane, who had managed to score only twice previously since his summer move from Tottenham - both in the Champions League - finally broke his league duck when he drove home from a Steven Gerrard pass in the 34th minute.

Keane's second came when he rounded Scott Carson a couple of minutes before the break and Alvaro Arbeloa added the gloss in injury time.

Cristiano Ronaldo says United can take solace in the Reds' commanding second half performance against Celtic, despite not finding the goals to secure a victory.

Ronaldo's closest attempt in the first half was a rasping free kick that flew just over the bar, and six minutes from time his shot was too hot to handle for Celtic keeper Artur Boruc, who spilled the ball into Ryan Giggs' path.

The Welshman headed United level with the rebound to earn a point, which Ronaldo said United should not be ashamed of.

Robinho lit up the night sky as Manchester City got off to a winning start in Group A of the UEFA Cup.

The club's record buy proved he is a class act by curling a shot from just inside the penalty area over goalkeeper Sander Boschker in the 56th minute.

It was his seventh goal of the season and gave City the advantage after a sublime pass from Stephen Ireland.

Robinho also hit the post twice but City had their work cut out against feisty Dutch opponents, managed by former England boss Steve McClaren.

Shaun Wright-Phillips and Benjani Mwaruwari were also on target but Twente responded with goals from Eljero Elia and Robbie Wielaert.

Arsene Wenger has launched a scathing attack on Stoke City defenders Rory Delap and Rayan Shawcross, accusing them of deliberately setting out to injury both Theo Walcott and Emmanuel Adebayor in Saturday's game at the Britannia Stadium.

The Arsenal manager was left seething after his two star players were hurt by tackles in the Gunners' 2-1 defeat and will miss Wednesday evening's Champions League fixture against Fenerbahce at the Emirates Stadium.

Celtic must summon the spirit of 2006 to repeat a famous victory over Manchester United on Wednesday and maintain an interest in the Champions League.

Two years ago Shunsuke Nakamura's late free kick secured a 1-0 Parkhead win over United that helped Celtic into the knockout phase for the first time but this year the Scots, with one point from three games, are hanging on by their fingertips.

They were disdainfully swept aside 3-0 at Old Trafford last month as two goals for on-song Dimitar Berbatov and one for Wayne Rooney capped an impressive display by the champions.

Two costly errors by John Mikel Obi sent 10-man Chelsea crashing to shock defeat to Serie A strugglers Roma.

The hosts stormed into a three-goal lead inside 58 minutes thanks to Christian Panucci and two goals from Mirko Vucinic.

Chelsea reduced the deficit through captain John Terry in the 75th minute but it was not enough to save them from a humiliating defeat, their worst in Europe since their 5-1 extra-time thrashing by Barcelona in 2000.
